A snapshot of guest ratings and stories behind the stay.
“The rooms are a little spartan, the bathrooms are tight, and I had to leave a note at the front desk to check out because it was unattended at 7:45am, but the property’s vibes make up for it. Lots of charming hidden nooks, fountains, sitting areas — it’s truly a little hidden paradise. And the location on Coronado’s main drag is perfect.”
“This is a nice, historic, hotel right across the street from the Coronado Hotel and a block or two away from the beaches. Rooms are nice. The small suite has a small kitchen, living room and separate bedroom. Two TVs are provided as well as some kitchen utensils and plates etc. Housekeeping is available but is by request. So you need to let the front desk know by 9am if you want service. There are several eateries both on the property and within walking distance with many different food options. There are also several shops there with assorted things to purchase or rent. The biggest gripe with this hotel is there is no dedicated parking close by. They have spots available in a parking garage a block or so away. This is not free, however. There is a $40 per day charge to park there. The only alternative is to try and find a spot on the street somewhere after 4pm so you can leave your car there until 10am the next morning. If you are there on a busy weekend day, this is nearly impossible to do. Overall, it was a nice stay. But the parking issue may be a negative for some folks.”
“Stayed here for one night in February 2026, but will not return. The front desk staff and location are both fantastic; A+ for those; in particular, the front desk clerk when we checked in went above and beyond to help us find parking. The room, however, was well below our expectations. We were expecting quaint and reasonably vintage (such as the decades-old window AC unit), but the room was tiny, water pressure in the shower was the lowest ever experienced, shower rod was badly rusted, and the bedding, although clean and comfortable, had a strong, very odd detergent/bleach smell. Courtyard was not wellmaintained and there were piles of rock hard sandbags that interfered with moving luggage. Even by Coronado standards, we considered the room overpriced for what it delivers. They do provide nice toiletries in the bathroom, including a disposable loofah and a Beekman 1810 soap bar.”
